Citrulline
Citrulline
L-citrulline is an amino acid which is turned into L-arginine after supplementation. L-citrulline supplementation is a more effective method of increasing L-arginine levels than L-arginine supplementation. Increased L-arginine levels lead to increased nitric oxide levels, thus preventing oxidative stress and contributing to vascular health and lead to improved exercise performance, decreased fatigue and muscle soreness.
Also known as: L-citrulline, L-citrulline malate
For cardiovascular health 3 x 1g L-citrulline / day, when taking L-citrulline malate increase by a factor 1.7
For improving exercise performance 6-8g L-citrulline malate 1 h prior to workout
For exercise performance, L-citrulline malate is preferable to pure L-citrulline
