Metformin

Metformin has a long history as a botanical compound. It was originally derived from the French lilac and used in herbal medicine for centuries. Forgotten and rediscovered in 1957 as the first effective treatment for diabetes, it is since then in widespread use as an inexpensive, safe medication with little to no known side-effects.

Metformin is used off-label as a treatment for endometriosis and due to its ability to activate AMPK as a gero-protector, often along with Berberine.
